Oman’s Ministry of Education has announced a new round of teaching vacancies in coordination with the Ministry of Labour, opening the door for graduates and aspiring educators to join the national school system. The move is aimed at strengthening the teaching workforce and supporting the sustainable employment of Omani job seekers.

Who can apply

The vacancies are open to candidates holding a university degree in Education or a general university degree supplemented by a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.Eligibility also extends to students expected to graduate during the 2025/2026 academic year, whether in the first, second or summer semester. In addition, the ministry has reopened the door for graduates from previous years who did not sit for the recruitment exam, as well as those who previously took the exam but did not achieve the required passing score.

Application process and timeline

Applications must be submitted electronically through the Ministry of Education’s Educational Portal via the designated recruitment link. The application window will run from February 22, 2026 until March 12, 2026. Candidates are required to complete their submissions within this period.Applicants must upload all necessary documentation, including academic transcripts and identification documents. English language specialists must provide recognised proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL, while graduates in French and German are required to submit DELF certificates where applicable. All applications will undergo a detailed review based on established admission standards and selection criteria.

Graduates from outside Oman

The ministry noted that graduates from outside the Sultanate who remain on waiting lists from previous years must complete the equivalence and certification of their academic qualifications. This step is necessary to ensure smooth appointment procedures if they are nominated.

Supporting national employment goals

The announcement aligns with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to monitor and advance programmes that support the sustainable employment of job seekers across various sectors.Through this recruitment initiative, the Ministry of Education aims not only to fill classroom vacancies but also to integrate new talent into Oman’s public education system while providing structured opportunities for aspiring teachers.
