'Not what America stands for': Anthropic president says she's horrified over what happened in Minnesota

A week-old LinkedIn post of Anthropic president Daniela Amodei has been doing the rounds in the MAGA circle as the president condemned the ICE crackdown in Minnesota and indirectly slammed the Donald Trump administration without naming him. “I’m horrified and sad to see what has happened in Minnesota. Freedom of speech, civil liberties, the rule of law, and human decency are cornerstones of American democracy. What we’ve been witnessing over the past days is not what America stands for,” the message read.”My career has been dedicated to the idea that it is possible to build a kinder, brighter future. I still believe this is true. I am heartened to see leaders from across the political spectrum speaking up to say that what they saw was wrong, and appreciate their calls for a full and transparent investigation,” it said. The LinkedIn post started gaining attention as MAGA activist Laura Loomer called her out for wanting a kinder future and wrote: “Maybe she should tell that to the family members of American citizens who have been brutally murdered by criminal illegal aliens.””And then Anthropic wonders why they are accused of being “WOKE”, a claim they continue to deny. They are 100% woke,” Loomer posted. The tech world voiced its concern to the employees after Minnesota was rocked by two shootings in January, first Renee Good and then Alex Pretti, both US citizens. “What’s happening with ICE is going too far. There is a big difference between deporting violent criminals and what’s happening now, and we need to get the distinction right,” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman wrote in an internal message. Apple CEO Tim Cook said he was heartbroken and that he discussed the matter with President Donald Trump. 60 CEOs of Minnesota-based companies released a letter calling for a de-escalation of the situation in Minnesota. The crackdown in Minnesota is going on and reports claimed that federal agents are now impersonating construction workers, delivery drivers and even anti-ICE activists.
