'Not that high': Donald Trump vows 'fairly substantial' chip tariffs soon; tech industry braces for impact

US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that United States will impose a “fairly substantial tariff” on computer chips coming into the country, during a White House dinner with tech industry executives. “We will be putting a tariff very shortly,” Trump said at the White House, adding, “Not that high, but fairly substantial tariff.”
