'No sugar coating': Vivek Ramaswamy reacts to Zohran Mamdani's win; 'We don't care about the color of your skin or religion'

Vivek Ramaswamy’s reaction to Zohran Mamdani’s win in the NYC mayoral poll is a rebuke to the GOP.

GOP leader and Ohio Governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy reacted to the win of fellow Indian-origin politician Zohran Mamdani in the New York mayoral election and said the Republican Party needs to learn two important things from the results of New York, New Jersey and Virginia, where Democrats swept the election. “We got our a**es handed to us. In New Jersey, Virginia and New York City. Democrats swept all three. There are two key lessons for Republicans. Listen carefully,” Ramaswamy said. “Number one: our side needs to focus on affordability. Make the American Dream affordable. Bring down costs, electric costs, grocery costs, healthcare costs and housing costs. And lay out how we’re gonna do it,” Ramaswamy said. “And number two, cut out the identity politics. It doesn’t suit Republicans. It’s not for us. That’s the woke Left’s game, not ours. We don’t care about the color of your skin or your religion. We care about the content of your character. That’s what who we are,” Mamdani said, touching upon the raging issue of identity politics plaguing the GOP right now.

New York City Celebrates As Mamdani Becomes Youngest Mayor Of NYC, Stuns Cuomo & Trump

Vivek Ramaswamy himself is a victim of identity politics, being an Indian-origin Hindu GOP leader. Recently, the MAGA imploded over the religion of Second Lady Usha Vance and how her Hindu religion would become a roadblock for Vice President JD Vance’s path if he wants to become the President in 2028. Socialist Zohran Mamdani, a Muslim, won the New York City mayoral election; Democrat Abigail Spanberger won her gubernatorial race against Winsome Earle-Sears in Virginia, and Mikie Sherrill defeated Jack Ciattarelli in the race for New Jersey governorship — in a major defeat for the GOP. President Donald Trump was enraged with the result as he posted on his social media: “TRUMP WASN’T ON THE BALLOT, AND SHUTDOWN, WERE THE TWO REASONS THAT REPUBLICANS LOST ELECTIONS TONIGHT,” according to Pollsters.”“REPUBLICANS, TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER! GET BACK TO PASSING LEGISLATION AND VOTER REFORM!” Trump posted.
