New in Bahrain: Residents can now collect parcels anytime from e-lockers, explore locker locations near you

Recipients can authorize someone else to collect parcels from Bahrain Post’s e-lockers using a secure access code, adding flexibility to deliveries.

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has launched the Bahrain Post electronic locker service on September 2, 2025, introducing a new nationwide system for secure, self-service parcel collection at high-traffic commercial locations across the Kingdom.

Seamless, secure, and customer-focused parcel collection

The newly launched electronic lockers offer a secure and flexible way for customers to receive their parcels without being restricted to specific timings or required to visit post office counters. According to Fatima Abdullah Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post Affairs at the Ministry, the lockers are a response to evolving customer needs and part of the Ministry’s broader push to improve service quality and operational performance. Speaking to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Al Dhaen confirmed that the lockers are intended to “offer practical and flexible options for parcel collection,” highlighting the Ministry’s focus on providing services tailored to both individuals and businesses. Customers using the service receive a unique access code and the location of the locker where their parcel is stored. The code can also be used by an authorized person if the recipient chooses to delegate collection. This added layer of flexibility is designed to reduce dependency on fixed office hours and traditional parcel pickup models.

Strategic locations and extended accessibility

To ensure ease of access, the lockers have been installed in major shopping centers and commercial hubs across the country. As of now, the lockers are available at the following locations:

  • Seef Mall (Seef District)
  • Seef Mall (Muharraq)
  • Seef Mall (Isa Town)
  • Marassi Galleria
  • The Avenues
  • Souq Al Baraha
  • Dragon City
  • Saar Mall

Customers can access these lockers during the operating hours of each facility, allowing them to collect parcels beyond traditional working hours. This convenience is paired with safe storage to ensure that packages remain secure until collected. Al Dhaen noted that the Ministry is planning further expansion of locker locations in the near future to widen the service’s reach and accessibility.

Part of a broader strategy for a modern postal ecosystem

The launch of electronic parcel lockers is not a standalone development but part of a broader initiative to transform Bahrain’s postal system into a modern, integrated, and technology-driven network. The Ministry affirmed that this initiative aligns with national objectives to boost operational efficiency, improve service quality, and support innovation in public service delivery. In a statement, the Ministry said it is “committed to advancing a modern and integrated postal system that enhances service quality and operational efficiency,” with the goal of positioning Bahrain as a regional hub for postal and logistics services.
