A shooting incident at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas has resulted in “multiple injuries and fatalities,” US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary Kristi Noem said on Wednesday. She added that the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas @ICEgov Detention Facility. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities. The shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gun shot wound. While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop. Please pray for the victims and their families,” Noem wrote on X. Vice President JD Vance called for an end to “obsessive attacks” on law enforcement, singling out ICE in particular.Acting ICE director Todd Lyons confirmed the shooting in an interview with CNN, saying three people were shot. “It could be employees, it could be civilians that were visiting the facility, it could be detainees. At this point, we’re still working through that,” Lyons said, as quoted by The Associated Press. He indicated that the shooter may have been a sniper.Meanwhile, Dallas Police announced on social media that a press conference regarding the “incident at 8100 N Stemmons” will be held at Empire Central & Stemmons.
