He said the claims were not true and called them unfair. He said he started watching One Piece during the holidays when he finally had free time. He also said he has watched many anime over the years. On X, he wrote that people should stop calling him a fake fan. He wrote, “I just finally had time over the holidays to dive into it. I’ve watched countless anime and have probably seen more than 90 percent of people reading this tweet. People need to stop treating me as a fake anime fan.”The conversation did not stop there. On January 7, 2026, MrBeast appeared in a collaboration video with Jasontheween. In that video, he spoke openly about the online reaction. He said parts of the One Piece fan base were harsh and unfair. He explained that people kept saying he was watching anime only to gain views. He added that these comments were hurtful and constant.Two days later, on January 9, MrBeast replied to a post by @HMBohemond on X. This time, he shared a clear list. He wrote, “This is slander. Call me weird, call me lame, but do not call me a fake anime fan. I have watched countless anime. Here is a list of some I have seen.”The list included 22 names:
