MrBeast Burger opens in Sydney as legal battle raises questions about the brand’s future

MrBeast Burger opens in Sydney as legal battle raises questions about the brand’s future

MrBeast Burger has officially launched in Sydney, marking its first expansion into Australia despite ongoing legal disputes tied to the brand’s U.S. operations. The virtual restaurant opened at Chatswood Westfield, drawing attention for its high menu prices and controversial timing. Meanwhile, MrBeast has stated he has no control over the business and earns no revenue from it.

MrBeast Burger is also growing, despite the brand being mired in a high-profile court case that will not dissipate. Ownership, revenue, and control are all under scrutiny, but the viral food concept has been pushed forward with a bold international move that is an indication that the business is not going to be slacking any time soon. This time, the spotlight is on Sydney. The brand has officially landed in Australia with a new outlet at Chatswood Westfield, introducing local customers to a name they have seen endlessly online but never tasted in person. The launch marks the first time the MrBeast Burger experience has reached Australian shores, and it arrives at a moment when the brand’s future is under intense scrutiny.

MrBeast Burger expands to Australia despite ongoing lawsuit chaos

Unlike traditional fast-food chains, MrBeast Burger operates through a virtual restaurant model. Meals are prepared inside existing kitchens rather than dedicated storefronts, allowing rapid expansion with minimal overhead. The Chatswood location follows this pop-up approach, opening for a limited run before potentially shifting elsewhere. The timing is notable. The Australian launch comes while MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, remains locked in a lawsuit with Virtual Dining Concepts, the company behind the brand’s U.S. rollout. In a previous interview, Donaldson made it clear he was unhappy with how the operation had evolved, stating he had “no control” of the brand and hasn’t made “a dime” of revenue. That quote continues to echo as the brand grows without his direct involvement.Having photos of the Sydney menu published on Reddit, online attention soon shifted to the pricing. Beast Style Burger is priced at $20.90 but chicken items lie in the same range. Combo meals approach nearly 28 dollars, and both inquisitive fans and doubtful locals take them in with varying responses. The controversy notwithstanding, the wave is difficult to negate. Donaldson is the most subscribing creator on YouTube, who has over 460 million followers. Interest is still motivated by his influence be it in burgers, videos or in more grandiose projects like his recently launched Beast Land amusement park based in Saudi Arabia. In the meantime, it is possible to state that MrBeast Burger is still growing, which proves that brand power and legal uncertainty can exist, at least in the short term.
