MAGA slams Angelina Jolie for ‘I don’t recognize my country’ comment in Spain: ‘We don’t…either’

MAGA slams Angelina Jolie for 'I don't recognize my country' comment in Spain: 'We don't...either'

Angelina Jolie said she doesn’t recognize her country anymore.

Angelina Jolie came under MAGA fury after dissing her country in Spain as she said the US was facing “very, very heavy times”. “What do you fear as an artist and an American?” Angelina Jolie was asked at Spain’s San Sebastián film festival. In reply, Angelina said it was a very difficult question. “I love my country, but at this time, I don’t recognise my country. I’ve always lived internationally, my family is international, my friends, my life,” she said.“My worldview is equal, united and international. Anything anywhere that divides or limits personal expressions and freedoms from anyone, I think, is very dangerous.” “These are such serious times that we have to be careful not to say things casually. These are very, very heavy times we are living in together.”The comments came as the entertainment industry is protesting Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension following his comments after Charlie Kirk’s assassination. “The MAGA gang [is] desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” Kimmel said though the administration said they did not know anything about Kimmel’s suspension by ABC and said it must have been tied to the poor ratings of his show and had nothing to do with the administration of Charlie Kirk. Hollywood celebrities have been expressing support for Kimmel and disappointment at Disney. Olivia Rodrigo, Pedro Pascal and Mark Ruffalo have voiced dissent and criticised the decision to suspend Kimmel. Some stars have gone a step further by endorsing calls to boycott Disney, including actors featured in Marvel shows and movies. As Angelina Jolie’s comment went viral, MAGA called her irrelevant and attacked her appearance and said she is not recognizable either.
