President Donald Trump repeated his threat of stopping funds to New York if Zohran Mamdani becomes the mayor, as he said Mamdani will prove to be one of the best things to ever happen to the GOP. “He is going to have problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great City. Remember, he needs the money from me, as President, in order to fulfill all of his FAKE Communist promises. He won’t be getting any of it, so what’s the point of voting for him? This ideology has failed, always, for thousands of years. It will fail again, and that’s guaranteed!” Trump posted. Adams said “constant media speculation” about his future and the city campaign finance board’s decision to deny him public matching funds, throttled his campaign. Prediction market gives Mamdani 84% chance of winning
Eric Adams’ exit makes things better for Mamdani as prediction market platform Kalshi now gives an 84% chance of Mamdani’s win. Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an Independent, follows as the next most likely contender, with Kalshi bettors assigning him a 16% chance of clinching the city’s top office.Meanwhile, Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa trails at 2%.
