LeT turns on its Pakistan masters over recognising Israel

Lashkar-e-Taiba’s deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri has threatened frontline leadership and top military officials in Pakistan with direct, public threats of elimination if they “even thought of recognising Israel”. “He will be assassinated, destroyed and ruined,” he said addressing a rally.Kasuri’s remarks come on the heels of President Trump’s appeal to several Muslim-majority nations, including Pakistan, to establish diplomatic ties with Israel under the umbrella of the Abraham Accords.During a public rally held in the wake of Eid al-Adha prayers, Kasuri took direct aim at the country’s highest governing authorities, cautioning that any behind-the-scenes attempts to alter Pakistan’s long-standing foreign policy regarding Israel would be met with fierce resistance.Kasuri further asserted that no international superpower possesses the leverage to coerce Islamic nations into validating Israeli statehood. He pointed to the strengthening defence alliance between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, claiming that Pakistan’s military capabilities now hold a strategic reach capable of countering Israeli influence.Throughout the address, Kasuri actively leveraged highly volatile rhetoric surrounding jihad, martyrdom, and the ongoing conflict in Palestine to inflame his followers and consolidate opposition against govt policy. “Whoever accepts Israel, will be destroyed..god willing, this Muslim nation is our faith, this is our belief…This act of hostility will continue forever, until you join us in worshipping one Allah. The deal with Saudi Arabia is a head start for Islam… for the Ummah. This is not the work of any ruler, politician, or leader. It is not the result of plans…. it is the result of thousands and millions of people who have offered their life in the path of Allah..,” he said. But security experts and sources saw Kasuri’s rhetoric as “staged” and a ploy by Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir to shrug off any US pressure to support Israel.
