The official police report provides a detailed timeline and context of the incident, while the investigation into the exact cause of death continues.

The discovery and initial investigation

Anunay Sood was found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Wynn Las Vegas on the morning of November 4, 2025. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) responded to a call from the hotel, where they discovered Sood’s body. According to the LVMPD report, officers assisted the Clark County Coroner’s Office in processing the scene, which led to the filing of a non-criminal/medical report. Although authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of death, preliminary details suggest a potential drug overdose.

Key details of the incident

Sood had been in Las Vegas to attend the prestigious Las Vegas Concours 2025, a major automotive event. He had been actively sharing his experiences from the event on Instagram in the days leading up to his death. On the night of November 4, Sood was reportedly with two women, including his fiancée, Shivani Parihar. Around 4:00 AM, the group allegedly purchased what they believed to be cocaine from a man on the casino floor. The trio returned to their hotel room, where they consumed the substance. At approximately 5:00 AM, the women woke up to find Sood unresponsive and without a pulse. Emergency services were immediately called, and paramedics arrived on the scene to administer CPR. They also administered five doses of Narcan, a medication used to counteract opioid overdoses, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. Sood was declared dead at 7:23 AM.

While the exact nature of the substance remains unconfirmed by authorities, the presence of narcotics in the room has led to widespread speculation about the role drugs may have played in Sood’s death. A full toxicology report is currently pending, which will be crucial in determining whether a drug overdose was indeed the cause.
