Kuwait: PACI launches ‘Residence Notification’ service on Sahel app to track lease registrations in real time

Property owners across Kuwait will be notified instantly when a lease linked to their property is registered, as the Public Authority for Civil Information has launched a new digital service aimed at tightening oversight and protecting ownership rights. The Public Authority for Civil Information announced the launch of its new “Residence Notification” service through the unified government application Sahel, marking another step in Kuwait’s push toward integrated digital government services. The service allows property owners to receive immediate alerts whenever a new rental contract is registered against their property, giving them real-time visibility into tenancy records and residency registrations.According to PACI, the service is designed to help owners verify whether a lease registration is legitimate, accurate, and authorized. If a property owner receives a notification for a contract they did not approve or recognize, they can take prompt action to address the issue. In such cases, owners are able to cancel the associated residency directly through the Sahel application using the “Cancel Residents” service, which PACI has also referred to as the “Remote Residents” service. As an alternative, property owners may visit PACI’s headquarters in person to complete the required procedures. The authority said the new service enhances monitoring of rental contracts across Kuwait and plays a key role in preventing the misuse of residential addresses. By ensuring that residency information tied to properties is current and accurate, PACI aims to reduce unauthorized registrations and improve the reliability of national civil data.PACI explained that the introduction of the Residence Notification service is part of its broader efforts to digitize public services, improve data accuracy, and strengthen coordination between government entities. Officials noted that the initiative supports the government’s wider strategy to build integrated digital platforms that improve efficiency, transparency, and overall user experience for both citizens and residents.
