Kuwait: Interior Ministry announces temporary ban on fishing boats and outdoor gatherings amid Iran-Israel conflict

Kuwait has introduced temporary safety restrictions as authorities respond to the current situation in the country and across the wider region. The Ministry of Interior announced a set of precautionary steps aimed at safeguarding citizens and residents, stressing that the measures are preventive and time-bound.

Fishing and pleasure boats prohibited from going to sea

The ministry confirmed a temporary ban on all fishing and pleasure boats from heading out to sea. The suspension will remain in force until further notice. Officials did not provide a specific end date but clarified that the restriction forms part of wider efforts to protect public safety during this period.

Desert camp visits to be postponed

Visitors planning trips to desert camps have been urged to postpone their visits. The advisory is intended to limit exposure to potential risks while authorities continue to monitor developments.

Public asked to avoid outdoor gatherings

Residents have also been called upon to avoid holding or organising events outside the home. This includes traditional Girgian celebrations, which are typically observed through community gatherings. Authorities indicated that reducing outdoor events is necessary to ensure safety at this stage.

The Ministry of Interior emphasised that the announced measures are temporary and precautionary. Officials said developments are being closely monitored at both the national and regional levels.
