Karoline Leavitt faces 'demon' remarks for celebrating immigrants 'losing hope' in viral post

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been facing heavy social media flak over her recent post celebrating the voluntary deportation of immigrants in America due to long-pending cases. The 28-year-old expecting mother was labelled ‘demon’ and advised to ‘revisit the Christ’ by social media users who were enraged at her being happy over immigrants ‘losing hope’. While Leavitt is no stranger to criticism over her press briefing comments and social media posts, this sparks a buzz due to her touching on a currently extremely sensitive topic in the American social and political sphere.Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Leavitt shared a link to a story reporting an increase in voluntary deportations by detained immigrants who were getting tired of long holds in facilities and jails that have been described by some detainees as ‘appalling’. “Voluntary departures hit record high as detained immigrants lose hope of getting released or winning in court,” she captioned the post. Many quickly slammed her for celebrating immigrants leaving the country, calling her a “demon” for finding the news joyous. “So you aren’t deporting as you say, but purposely detaining them for long lengths to torture and break them? Demons walking this earth man, and they are running this country,” one person wrote. “When people lose hope, it’s winning to you, perhaps you may want to revisit that Christ bit” advised another.”Ah yes nothing like crushing the will of people to make a girl smile, eh, Karoline?” quipped one. Many pointed out how Leavitt’s claims of religion and faith contradicted her beliefs and comments most of the time, leading to people being suspicious of the Press Secretary.

Leavitt ‘NUKES’ Reporter For Saying ICE Agent Recklessly Shot Renee Good | Minnesota Backlash

As the White House Press Secretary, Leavitt has had to be the spokesperson for numerous ICE actions, brutalities and immigrant incidents. In most cases, she has sided with the Trump administration leading to people calling her out online. Recently, she was slammed for celebrating the Department of Homeland Security wrapping up a “resounding success” of a mission in Minneapolis that led to the death of two American citizens by ICE and Border Patrol agents. However, Leavitt has not been forgiving even to her own family when it comes to illegal immigration and deportation. Her nephew’s mother Bruna Caroline Ferreira was detained by ICE in November with claims of overstaying her tourist visa, having a criminal record and not living with her 11-year-old son, whom she shares with Michael Leavitt. “I think what I would have to say to Karoline is: Just because you went to a Catholic school doesn’t make you a good Catholic,” said Ferreira to Leavitt. She was later released on bond in December and spoke to People Magazine about regretting choosing Leavitt as her son’s godmother over her own sister. “You are a mother now,” she continued. “How would you feel if you were in those, in my shoes?… How would you feel if somebody did this to you?”
