‘Israel armed criminal militias’: Is Hamas planning attack on Gaza civilians? What terror group said on US allegations

'Israel armed criminal militias': Is Hamas planning attack on Gaza civilians? What terror group said on US allegations

Hamas on Sunday has strongly rejected a statement from US state department that cited “credible reports” indicating the terror group is planning an attack on civilians in Gaza. The Palestinian militant group said that such allegations were false.

Hamas says police forces in Gaza are protecting residents

According to The Times of Israel, rejecting the recent statement by the US, Hamas, in a statement, said that “the police forces in Gaza, with extensive assistance from residents, are fulfilling their national duty by pursuing militias and holding them accountable according to clear laws, in order to protect residents and property.”

The terror group further added that the facts on the ground are opposite of what US claimed earlier. “It is the occupation authorities [Israel] that established, armed and financed criminal militias that carried out acts of murder and kidnapping and stole aid trucks,” it said, according to The Times of Israel.

Hamas calls it Israeli propaganda

Earlier in June, Netanyahu had confirmed that Israel is working with and arming in Gaza to counter Hamas.Hamas said that allegations of US “are consistent with Israeli propaganda that provides cover for the continuation of occupation crimes.” Earlier on Saturday, the US state department said that “this planned attack against Palestinian civilians would be a serious breach of the ceasefire and undermine the progress made through mediation.” US added that measures would be taken if the terror group goes ahead with the attack. “Should Hamas proceed with this attack, measures will be taken to protect the people of Gaza and preserve the integrity of the ceasefire,” the state department said. The statement from US state department came after several reports claimed that over the past week, Hamas has executed several members of rival clans and other Palestinians accused of working with Israel.

We will ‘go in and kill them’

Earlier, the US President Trump had threatened that if Hamas continues violent activities in Gaza, then “we will have no choice but to go in and kill them.””If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them,” Trump had said in a post on X.

‘In a hard way, the war will end’

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the war in Gaza will only stop when second phase of peace plan is completed, which involves the disarmament of Hamas. “Phase B involves disarming Hamas, or more precisely, demilitarising the Gaza Strip after stripping Hamas of its weapons,” Netanyahu told Channel 14. “When that is done, hopefully easily, but if not, in a hard way, the war will end,” he added.
