Singh illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico in 2023. Singh is wanted in Germany for attempted murder. He was taken into custody as part of enforcement operations targeting non-citizens with serious criminal histories, including allegations related to attempted murder and extortion. ICE stated that he was placed into removal proceedings based on his criminal record.California caseIn Los Angeles, California, ICE arrested Parminderpal Singh in early 2026. Authorities described him as an Indian citizen with a lengthy criminal history that included violent offenses such as robbery and assault-related charges. He was taken into immigration custody pending deportation proceedings.Pennsylvania caseIn Pennsylvania, Subramanyam “Subu” Vedam, an Indian-born man who had been in US since infancy, was previously convicted of first-degree murder in 1983 and served more than four decades in prison. After his conviction was overturned in 2025, ICE detained him again based on a prior deportation order tied to his earlier case. He remains in immigration custody pending further proceedings.
