‘If you want peace…’: Pig heads dumped at a Muslim cemetery in Australia after 15 killed in Bondi Beach shooting

'If you want peace...': Pig heads dumped at a Muslim cemetery in Australia after 15 killed in Bondi Beach shooting

Hours after the mass shooting of Bondi Beach in Sydney, a Muslim cemetery in South Western Sydney was desecrated with decapitated pig heads. Local reports confirmed that the incident was reported to the police and the pig heads were removed. The animal remains were left at the entrance to a cemetery on Richardson Road, Narellan. “Officers attended and found several pig heads at the scene. Police immediately commenced an investigation into the incident,” a police statement read. “The pig heads have since been removed and disposed of appropriately,” the police added, mentioning that inquiries were ongoing into the incident.Ahmad Hraichie, LMA Islamic Funeral Service director, who is also known as ‘The Muslim Undertaker’ posted a video of the cemetery desecration and condemned the attack as ‘pure stupidity’.

‘You are a part of the problem’

“Today, at Narellan Cemetery, in the Muslim section, pig heads were thrown onto graves. To whoever did this: you have proven nothing except hatred. You are not a solution to any problem—you are part of the problem. This is pure stupidity. It achieves nothing. It only fuels anger, pain, and division. We do not need more people being revved up and amped up by cowardly actions like this,” Hraichie’s Instagram post read. “These people in those graves were dead long before what happened yesterday. They have nothing to do with current events. Graves are places of rest, dignity, and respect—across all faiths and all humanity. If you want peace, this is not the way. If you want justice, this is not the way. All you are doing is showing a lack of humanity,” the post added. A Muslim father-son duo have been identified as the shooters. The 50-year-old father who was killed, arrived in Australia in 1998 on a student visa. His 24-year-old Australian-born son, who was shot and wounded, is being treated at a hospitalThe government on Monday proposed tougher new gun laws as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he would limit the number of guns a licensed owner can obtain. The father-son duo held a gun licence for a decade and amassed six guns legally. “People’s circumstances can change. People can be radicalized over a period of time. Licences should not be in perpetuity,” the PM said.
