Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney refused to give a comment on US President Donald Trump’s “Governor” remark and said that he can handle it. While giving 100% tariff threat, Trump called Mark Carney “Governor.” In a post on Truth Social, Carney said, “If Governor Carney thinks he is going to make Canada a ‘Drop Off Port’ for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken.”
“China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it, including the destruction of their businesses, social fabric, and general way of life. If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% Tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the USA. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT,” he addedIn an interview, when Carney was asked whether he was offended with the term “Governor,” he said, “I mean, I think in this, in this role, you get called a lot of things a lot of time. And I, I, you know, I’m not going to comment on every tweet or truth or, or comment from, from, from whoever. So I, I can handle it as a follow up, but I am, but I do think this point about our troops is fundamental and respecting our troops and the contribution that they’ve made.” Trump frequently threatened higher tariffs against Canada over the last year for a variety of reasons, but most of those threats did not come to pass.
