'Help has now arrived': Netanyahu sends message to Iran citizens, warns of more strikes against 'terrorist regime'

After Iran’s supreme leader Ayotallah Khamenei was killed in a joint Israel strike conducted jointly with US early Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a stark warning on striking “thousands of targets belonging to the terrorist regime” for Iran’s “freedom”.”In the coming days, we shall strike thousands of targets belonging to the terrorist regime. We shall prepare the conditions for the brave people of Iran to free themselves from the chains of tyranny,” said Netanyahu in a post on X.

Further directly addressing the general public of Iran, Netanyahu shared a mesaage saying, “And for this reason, I say to you once again: O citizens of Iran, do not let this opportunity slip away. This is an opportunity that comes but once in every generation.

Israel attacks Iran

Do not sit idly by, for your moment will arrive soon. The moment when you must take to the streets, when you must come to the streets in your millions to finish the job, to overthrow the regime of terror that has embittered your lives. Your suffering and sacrifice shall not be in vain. The help you have longed for—this help has now arrived. Help has arrived, and now the time has come to unite for a historic mission. O citizens of Iran, Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Ahwazis, and Baloch— Now is the time to unite your forces to topple the regime and secure your future.” Israel launched Operation Roaring Lion while the US conducted Operation Epic Fury, a coordinated campaign of airstrikes across multiple Iranian cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah. The strikes targeted Iranian military command centres, air-defence systems, missile sites, and key regime infrastructure.Aerial and drone footage released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) showed buildings in central Tehran being hit, which the military described as headquarters of the “Iranian terror regime.” The strikes were part of a broader effort to establish aerial superiority and dismantle core elements of the Iranian regime. The operations resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with four senior military and security officials. Israel framed the strikes as dismantling the Iranian regime and empowering its citizens, while the US emphasised eliminating imminent threats from Tehran’s nuclear, missile, and proxy activities.
