Hajj 2026 in Oman: Registration opens soon, important dates and how to apply

Oman’s Ministry opens Hajj 2026 registration September 23–October 8; applicants register online, selection based on Saudi quota, notified via SMS/Representative Image

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Oman has announced that Hajj registration for the 1447 AH pilgrimage season will open from September 23 to October 8. Eligible applicants must register electronically, with selection based on Saudi Arabia’s quota for Oman. The Ministry stresses transparency and strict adherence to registration guidelines to ensure a smooth pilgrimage process.

Hajj 2026 Registration details and eligibility

The Hajj registration for the upcoming 1447 AH season is set to begin on September 23 and will remain open until October 8. Both citizens and residents of Oman who are 18 years or older are eligible to apply.Registrations must be completed online through the official electronic portal at www.hajj.om. Applicants can register by providing one of the following:

  • Civil number
  • Personal ID card
  • Mobile phone number (if linked to the electronic authentication system PKI)

The Ministry emphasizes that the civil number on the personal ID card must be valid for registration. Also, the mobile phone number entered during registration will be used to receive all official communications, including text message notifications and emails related to the application and subsequent procedures.

Pilgrim selection process and notifications

Registration does not guarantee a Hajj slot. Selection of pilgrims will be automatic and based on the quota allocated to Oman by Saudi authorities. The Ministry outlined the notification schedule for successful applicants as follows:

  • First allocation: October 14 to October 30
  • Second allocation: November 2 to November 6
  • Third allocation: November 9 to November 11, 2025

Successful applicants will be informed via SMS. The Ministry will also soon publish a detailed timetable for the 2026 season, including deadlines for pilgrims traveling by air and land.

Hajj rules, transparency, and quality assurance

The Ministry is committed to ensuring a transparent registration process free from interference by unauthorized Hajj service providers. It strictly prohibits any involvement by Hajj companies in the registration process, protecting the freedom of choice for applicants.Applications submitted outside the official online system or after the deadline will be rejected unless officially announced otherwise through the Ministry’s website, social media, or local newspapers.Providing inaccurate information during registration may lead to disqualification. In such cases, the Ministry reserves the right to cancel the assigned slot and offer it to the next eligible candidate. If a selected pilgrim declines the allocated opportunity, they cannot transfer it to another person. Instead, the slot will be automatically reassigned to the next eligible applicant through the system.

Hajj confirmation and travel timeline

The Ministry reiterated that registration alone does not promise final approval. Eligibility will only be confirmed once the registration process is complete, data accuracy verified by Saudi authorities, and all priorities sorted according to the available quota. The Ministry will announce the complete timeline for the entire 1447 AH Hajj season on the upcoming Monday. This timeline will cover every stage, from registration to the final entry deadlines for pilgrims arriving via land and air routes.By announcing the registration period early, the Ministry aims to encourage pilgrims to prepare in advance and complete all necessary procedures promptly, ensuring a smooth, secure, and comfortable Hajj experience.
