Gen Z protests aftermath: Multistorey hotel in Nepal charred - watch

Shocking visuals have surfaced showing a multistorey hotel engulfed in flames and reduced to a charred shell after being set on fire during Tuesday’s deadly Gen Z protests. The five-star Hilton Hotel in Kathmandu appeared blackened and charred, with burnt windows, smoke stains, and structural damage visible. Mob had set fire to government property, including Parliament, Supreme Court and the private residence of several leaders like ex-PM KP Sharma Oli.Another video of an Indian woman urging for help surfaced on social media as she claimed that the mob set fire on roads, not even tourists were spared.“The situation here is very bad. Fires are being set on roads everywhere. They are not even sparing tourists here. They don’t care if someone is a tourist or if someone has come here for work. They are setting fires everywhere without thinking, and the situation has become very, very bad here. We don’t know how long we will stay in another hotel. But I just request the Indian embassy that please, this video, this message, should be delivered to them. With folded hands, I request all of you, please help us. There are many people with me here, and we are all stranded here,” Upastha Gill said in the video. Also read: Indian woman in Nepal cries for help; claims her entire hotel torched – videoMeanwhile, the Nepal army enforced nationwide restrictive orders and a curfew. From Wednesday morning to 5pm, restrictions are in place, followed by a curfew until 6am Thursday.
