Florida doctor found dead in Dollar Tree freezer under mysterious circumstances

A 32-year-old Florida physician and mother of two was found dead inside a freezer at a Dollar Tree store in Miami, a day after she entered the shop, according to police and local media reports. The woman, identified as Helen Massiell Garay Sanchez, was discovered by a store employee on Sunday morning. Authorities have said her death is being treated as unexplained, with investigations continuing into how and why she entered the restricted area where her body was found.Miami Police said officers were called to the Dollar Tree store on Southwest 8th Street around 8 a.m. on Sunday after an employee reported finding an unresponsive woman inside a freezer located in an employees-only area. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. The store was closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation.According to investigators, Garay Sanchez entered the Dollar Tree on Saturday evening shortly before the store closed. Surveillance footage reviewed by police shows she did not make any purchases. Authorities say she then accessed a restricted area not open to customers, where the freezer was located, and remained there overnight. Her body was discovered the following morning when an employee opened the store.Police have said there is no evidence of foul play at this stage. Investigators stated that Garay Sanchez was not forced into the freezer and was not an employee of the store. Her death has been classified as unclassified pending further examination, and officials have not released a cause of death.Garay Sanchez was originally from Nicaragua and worked as a physician specialising in anaesthesiology, with a focus on congenital heart disease, according to a GoFundMe page organised by her family. She was described as a devoted doctor whose work helped children and families, as well as a loving mother to two young children who live in Nicaragua.Authorities are continuing to review surveillance footage, speak with witnesses and examine whether personal or mental health factors may have played a role, according to local reports. Miami Police said further details would be released once the investigation progresses.A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help return Garay Sanchez’s body to Nicaragua for funeral services. As of Monday, several thousand dollars had been raised to support the family.
