Twitch streamer Fiona “Fanfan” has finally broken her silence on the ongoing controversy surrounding her jokes about Kai Cenat at The Streamer Awards 2025. The Canadian creator has faced massive criticism ever since she made remarks about Cenat’s Streamer University project and his Mafiathon 3 subathon during her on-stage appearance. Her comments also included a comparison between Cenat and Sean “Diddy” Combs, which sparked even more debate online. The jokes did not sit well with many fans and creators, which led to a huge outrage across social media. The situation escalated further when Kai Cenat’s friend, Tylil James, publicly called her out during the livestream in front of a massive audience. Fanfan recently addressed the situation and explained that she was “just following the script” at the event. She also said she planned to address the matter briefly on stream.

Fanfan says the jokes were scripted and apologizes to Kai Cenat

In her Discord messages, Fanfan clarified that she did not intend for the jokes to cause harm. “yea i’ll address it on stream briefly. yea i was just following the script and i thought it would be fine but i shouldn’t have. friends making jokes vs strangers making jokes is different so i get it. should’ve just not followed the script and chatted with people but i thought awards shows were meant to be cringe and corny jabs and was wrong, that’s all”, Fanfan said. She later explained that she had already reached out to Kai Cenat to apologize directly. In another message, Fanfan wrote, “already sent an apology to kai for being disrespectful and explained the situation, that’s the only person i need to apologize to. i should’ve just read the room and went off script but hindsight is 20/20. i was so f**king dead i legit was just reading off the teleprompter. nono i don’t wanna shift blame. better for me to just tank it. bad to give excuses. i could’ve easily just not followed the script and improvised.”Fanfan also discussed that award shows often include light jabs and awkward humor. However, she admitted she misread the situation and should have trusted her instincts instead of sticking to the teleprompter. As of now, Kai Cenat has not publicly responded to her apology. Also Read: Plaqueboymax defends Kai Cenat’s pal Tylil James after heated reaction to Fanfan’s joke at Streamer Awards 2025
