Popular Twitch streamer Emiru, whose real name is Emily-Beth Schunk, revealed during her November 11, 2025 livestream that Twitch agreed to donate $100,000 to a violence protection charity at her request. This came after she asked the platform for a “public resolution” following a safety incident at TwitchCon San Diego in October 2025. Emiru said she wanted to see real accountability rather than prolonged arguments, and the company accepted every term she put forward.Speaking directly to her viewers, Emiru explained that one of her key conditions for resolving the issue was for Twitch to donate to a charity that supports people affected by violence. “I wanted public resolution, asked them for a list of things, agreed to all of them, one of the things was if they would donate $100k to a violence protection charity,” she said during the stream. Her statement quickly spread online, gaining support from fans who praised her for using her influence to make a positive impact.

Emiru’s request led Twitch to pledge $100k to charity

The livestream on November 11, 2025, came just weeks after an incident during Emiru’s appearance at TwitchCon San Diego, where a fan suddenly rushed the stage and tried to grab her face. Following that moment, Emiru publicly demanded that Twitch handle the situation responsibly. She said the company not only issued an apology but also agreed to cooperate with law enforcement and make the six-figure charity donation she proposed. Twitch later released a statement acknowledging that it “failed to keep Emiru safe” during the event and promised to make the donation to organizations that work to prevent sexual and physical violence. While the exact charity name hasn’t been disclosed yet, reports from Spilled.gg and PopRant confirmed Twitch’s agreement to fulfill the full $100,000 commitment.Emiru’s firm stance has sparked new conversations across the streaming community about platform accountability and creator safety.
