Dubai is preparing to welcome 2026 with a spectacle like never before. On 31 December, the city will sparkle with 48 fireworks displays across 40 locations, surpassing last year’s 36 shows. From iconic skyscrapers to waterfronts and sprawling landmarks, the celebration promises a night of awe-inspiring sights for residents and visitors alike.

Fireworks at every corner of the city

From the towering Burj Khalifa to the scenic Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Bluewaters, Burj Al Arab, Expo City Dubai, Global Village, Atlantis The Palm, and Palm Jebel Ali, the city will be ablaze with light and color. The distribution of shows is designed to keep crowds safe while ensuring everyone gets a front-row view of the dazzling displays. Authorities are calling on the public to follow safety instructions, stick to public transport, and enjoy the celebrations responsibly.

High Security for a safe celebration

Dubai is pulling out all the stops to ensure safety during this massive event. Over 23,000 security personnel from 55 government and private agencies will be deployed across the city. Leading the operation are 9,884 Dubai Police officers, backed by 13,502 private security staff. To cover every inch of the city, authorities will operate 1,625 security patrols, 36 bicycle patrols, 34 mounted patrols, and 53 marine rescue boats. Civil Defence is also on high alert with 1,754 personnel and 165 vehicles ready to respond to any emergency. Officials are calling this the most comprehensive New Year’s Eve operation in Dubai’s history.

Smooth transportation and medical preparedness

Millions are expected to flood Dubai for the celebrations, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is ready. A fleet of 14,000 taxis, 1,300 public buses, and 107 metro trains will transport party-goers across the city, managed by 5,565 RTA staff.Medical readiness matches the scale of the event. With 236 ambulances, 635 paramedics, and 1,900 medical staff on standby, and 12 hospitals plus outdoor clinics prepared, authorities are ready to respond instantly to any health emergencies.

Dubai’s New Year’s Eve 2026 promises a blend of spectacle and safety. With fireworks lighting up the skyline, seamless transportation, and extensive security, the city is set for an unforgettable celebration.
