Dubai has introduced a new “Work from Park” initiative aimed at turning public parks into spaces where people can work, relax and connect, as the city looks to adapt to changing work habits and improve quality of life. The programme, launched by Dubai Municipality, will create dedicated work areas inside parks, allowing professionals to work in open, nature-based environments. The idea is to make parks more useful throughout the day while supporting remote workers, freelancers and small businesses. As part of the rollout, the municipality has signed agreements with Group AMANA and Letswork to design, build and run these workspaces. The project is also aligned with wider long-term plans such as the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, the Dubai 2040 Parks and Greenery Strategy and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. The first location will open in May 2026 at Al Barsha Pond Park. It will include modular workspaces built to high sustainability standards and designed to blend into the park’s natural setting. More locations are expected to be introduced across Dubai later in the year. “Dubai Municipality’s ‘Work from Park’ initiative reflects our commitment to transforming public parks into future-ready urban spaces that enhance quality of life while supporting economic activity,” said Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality. He added that the partnerships will help deliver flexible and sustainable infrastructure that fits modern work patterns. The construction of these spaces will use modular building methods led by Group AMANA through its DuBox division. This approach allows units to be built off-site and assembled quickly, reducing waste and environmental impact while maintaining high quality and flexibility. “We are pleased to be part of the ‘Work from Park’ initiative,” said Richard Abboud, CEO of Group AMANA, noting that modular construction enables efficient and adaptable work environments. The operational side will be handled by Letswork, which will provide access to facilities through its platform. Users will be able to book hot desks, event areas, podcast studios and creative production spaces within parks. “Our partnership represents a significant step toward redefining the future of flexible work in the UAE,” said Omar AlMheiri, co-founder of Letswork, adding that the initiative will also introduce creative spaces and tools for content creators. The project will also include workshops, training sessions and collaborative programmes aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and developing skills within Dubai’s growing creative economy. By bringing together public and private partners, the initiative is expected to open new investment opportunities while making parks more active and community-focused spaces. It is part of Dubai’s broader effort to build a more flexible, sustainable and innovation-driven urban environment.
