‘Don’t tell me these are IT crowd’: Fresh row over old video of fans celebrating Pawan Kalyan’s movie in US

'Don't tell me these are IT crowd': Fresh row over old video of fans celebrating Pawan Kalyan's movie in US

The video of Pawan Kalyan’s fans wreaking havoc on the streets in the name of celebrating him resurfaced, intensifying the ongoing narrative of hatred against India and Indians. Several social media users claimed that the video was recent but Pawan Kalyan’s last ‘They call him OG’ released last year and videos from that time are now doing the rounds with misleading claims. In the video, Telugu fans could be seen pouring milk over Pawan Kalyan’s cut-out, breaking coconuts etc — all leading to a massive chaos and litter on the streets. “No, this isn’t india….this is Chicago. They turned a movie premiere into total mayhem. Gallons of milk and food hurled everywhere, fireworks detonated in the parking lot, and the theater completely trashed inside. They whine about “hate” coming their way, but then act like this in our country?” X user Info Battle Maiden wrote. “How did these people reach the US? Don’t tell me these are the IT crowd. If they are, then maybe the allegations of mass scale visa and credential fraud are true,” another wrote in disbelief that those Pawan Kalyan fans could be the IT crowd that gets entry to the US on H-1B visas. “This is why anti-indian sentiment is rising. It’s just another Indian idolatry,” another wrote. Some social media users pointed out that the movie theater shown in the video is situated in an area predominantly populated by Indians, and it is the only one screening Indian films. And hence, some harmless fun by a community in front of a theater rarely visited by the Whites is not that big an issue. The video from last year surfaced as local leaders have become vocal against Indian culture and the Hindu religion. Texas and Florida have already imposed a selective ban on H-1B hiring in state agencies and higher education institutes.
