A spokesperson for Usha Vance told People magazine that she is “a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes,” offering a straightforward explanation for the missing ring.As the discussion continued online, zoomed-in images of her hand circulated. The spokesperson said that there was no deeper meaning behind the moment and noted that Usha often removes her ring while looking after her children and completing daily chores. Usha, 39, and JD Vance, 41, have been married since 2014 and have three children—Ewan, 8; Vivek, 5; and Mirabel, 3.The latest rumours followed a separate viral moment in late October involving JD Vance and Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, at a Turning Point USA event. Kirk, who now leads the organisation, delivered an emotional introduction, saying she saw “similarities” between her late husband and the vice president. Their subsequent hug drew scrutiny online, with viewers dissecting their hand placements and questioning whether the embrace was appropriate given the context of recent grief. Kirk has previously described both JD and Usha Vance as “incredible people” who provided meaningful support after her husband’s death.JD Vance also received criticism for saying he “hopes” his Hindu-born wife might “eventually” feel drawn to Catholicism, while adding that the decision would be her own.
