‘Destroyed our country’: Trump again targets Ilhan Omar, Somalis; she hits back asking if he’s ‘pedophile’

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday renewed his attacks on Somali-American community and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, repeating a series of claims while speaking to reporters at the White House. His remarks came after he was asked about Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey saying he was proud the city hosts the largest Somali community in the United States.Responding sharply, Trump said, “Well then he is a fool. I wouldn’t be proud to have the largest Somalian community, look at their nation… people just walking around killing each other.” He went on to allege, “These Somalians have taken billions of dollars out of our country…” Targeting Representative Ilhan Omar, Trump repeated long-running accusations surrounding her personal life, saying, “They have a representative, Ilhan Omar, who they say married her brother. It’s a fraud. She tries to deny it now but can’t really deny it, cuz yeah just happened.” He added that she “shouldn’t be allowed to be the congresswomen” and should be “thrown hell out of our country.”Trump also blamed the community for what he described as deterioration in Minnesota, saying, “These people have destroyed Minnesota.” He also took aim at the Minnesota governor, “you have a incompetent governor, a crooked governor…he should be ashamed – a beautiful land and a beautiful state is a hell hole right now. Trump further went on to say the only thing Omar and the community does is complain about everything. “These people all they do is complain, complain, complain, You have her she’s always – constitution provides me – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution. All she does is complain about this country and without this country she would be in a very good shape and probably wouldn’t be alive,” he said.Linking the arrival of Somali refugees to the Obama administration, Trump said, “What they have done to Minnesota has a lot to do with the governor and a lot to do with Barack Obama because that’s when these people started coming to our country.”His latest remarks come a day after Trump during his cabinet meeting targeted the sommunity by caling Somalis “garbage’.Responding to the President, congresswomen Omar posted on X, “His obsession with me is creepy. I hope he gets the help he desperately needs,” while reacting to a video where Trump was talking about her. She also responded to Trump’s repeated claims of marrying her brother saying she didn’t and went on to question if the President is pedophile. “I didn’t but is your President a pedophile?”
