Candace Owens backs Elizabeth Lane’s opinion post questioning Erika Kirk’s behavior and public image

In her detailed post, Elizabeth Lane said she finds Erika Kirk “deeply disturbing.” She explained that her view is based on what she calls repeated patterns in Erika Kirk’s public behavior. Lane wrote that she comes from the acting and modeling world and has seen people who carefully shape their image to gain power. She claimed that Erika Kirk’s ambition feels “calculated and performative” to her. The independent journalist discussed how some viewers say they feel uncomfortable watching Erika Kirk speak. She referred to psychological research, including work linked to psychologist Robert Hare, about traits such as shallow emotional display. Lane suggested that people may react strongly when facial expressions and tone do not match the situation. She asked readers if they felt similar discomfort. Her post also focused on Erika Kirk’s relationship with her late husband, Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA and a well-known conservative activist. Lane claimed that Erika Kirk’s public identity changed after their relationship began. She described this shift as sudden and strategic, though she stressed again that this was her opinion.Elizabeth Lane further wrote that Erika Kirk appeared confident speaking publicly just days after her husband’s death. She suggested that viewers were reacting not to grief, but to what she called a lack of emotional continuity. Lane ended her message by saying her comments were analysis, not accusations of a crime.Candace Owens’ decision to publicly support the post has now brought even more attention to the discussion. As of now, Erika Kirk has not publicly responded to either Candace Owens or Elizabeth Lane’s statements.
