Commercial sex acts in soundproof bedrooms: Who is Soros-linked financier Howard Rubin, arrested for trafficking?

Howard Rubin, once famous money manager, arrested for sex trafficking for years.

70-year-old Howard Rubin was arrested Friday from his home in Fairfield on charges that he sex-trafficked at least 10 women between 2009 and 2019, assaulted them by beating them, and gave them electric shocks. The arrest is a huge shock to the finance world as the retired Big Apple financier had ties with George Soros. Nobody knew he maintained soundproof sex dungeons for years before the first complaint was filed against him. His personal assistant Jennifer Powers is also facing sex-trafficking charges as text messages reveal how they discussed elaborately what Rubin did with the women at his dungeon.“As alleged, the defendants used Rubin’s wealth to mislead and recruit women to engage in commercial sex acts, where Rubin then tortured women beyond their consent, causing lasting physical and/or psychological pain, in some cases physical injuries,” Brooklyn US Attorney Joseph Nocella said in a statement.

Penthouse turned into sex dungeon, NDA to sign

One of the West 57th Street penthouse bedrooms was soundproofed and painted red, and had a device that was used to shock or electrocute the women, the feds said. The room also had a cross and bed with restraints where the women would be bound and gagged, according to the authorities. The women had a safe word for extreme conditions but they said he ignored their pleas. Rubin was so violent with a woman that her breast implant flipped and when she complained, she got tens of thousands of dollars to fix it. Rubin made women, mostly former Playboy models, sign nondisclosure agreements.

Who is Howard Rubin?

Rubin grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in chemical engineering. He studied MBA from Harvard and entered Wall Street as a financier only to climb the ranks. At one point, he was working for the Soros Fund Management.

Who is Howard Rubin’s wife?

Rubin’s longtime wife Mary J Henry filed for divorce from him in 2021 after he was accused of sexual abuse in the suits. They were married in 1985 and have three kids together.
