Candace Owens says the French government used a small spelling mistake to dismiss her very big claims. She says this is not fair. Two weeks ago, Owens posted on X that the French President and his wife wanted her killed. She also said French Legionnaires were linked to the death of Charlie Kirk. Owens said she gave her “information” to the White House and the federal government. On November 27, Euronews reported that a spokesperson for the French Ministry of Armed Forces said her claims were wrong. The spokesperson said there was no French Foreign Legion training at “Camp Riley” in Minnesota. They said the training in California ended on August 25, 2025, and nothing happened at “Camp Riley” because Camp Riley does not exist.

A France 24 report also said the same thing, that Owens wrote the wrong name. They said the real place is Camp Ripley, not “Riley.” This made the ministry question the truth of her source.

Candace Owens says French officials ignored the real point

On her Monday podcast, Candace Owens said she knows she made a typo. She said she wrote “Riley” instead of “Ripley.” But she said this mistake should not be used to shut down everything else she said. She called it a “non-debunking debunk.” Owens said the ministry focused only on the spelling mistake. She said this is a “Snopes-level” move that lets them avoid talking about the bigger story.

The French spokesperson also told Euronews that Tyler Robinson, the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s murder, was never in the French Foreign Legion. The spokesperson said that if he never served in the U.S. military, then he could not have been trained by the Legion.Candace Owens pushed back. She said she never claimed that Robinson was part of the Legion. She said the ministry was “dancing around” the point. Owens then asked a direct question:Was anyone who trained with the French Foreign Legion present at Utah Valley University on September 10? She said students at the event said they did not recognize many adults there and hinted these adults could be connected to the Legion.Candace Owens also said she has not heard back from the FBI. Earlier, she said the White House confirmed they got her “receipts.” She is already facing a defamation lawsuit from the Macrons for earlier claims about Brigitte Macron. Also Read: Candace Owens And Charlie Kirk Controversy Explained: Inside Her Statements On Erika Kirk, Emmanuel Macron And Mystery Around His Death
