A Brazilian influencer, Rosa Iberê Tavares Dantas, is now on the run after leaving the country before starting her prison sentence in a deadly road accident case. She was recently sentenced to three years in jail after being found guilty in a crash that killed a 31-year-old personal trainer, Talis Roque da Silva, in Manaus. Authorities say she has not returned to custody and is now considered a fugitive. The case has gained major attention because Dantas was a social media personality with a large following on Bigo Live. She used to share content about her lifestyle, travel, fitness, and luxury life. After the court ruling, she reportedly left Brazil during the legal process and is believed to have traveled to Madrid. Officials have now placed her name in Brazil’s arrest warrant system and informed international authorities.

According to reports, the court in Manaus sentenced Dantas on May 4 to three years in prison for negligent homicide. The judge also ordered restrictions, including a driving ban and a fine. The crash happened on August 31, 2023, when Dantas was driving an SUV and collided with a motorcycle at a junction. The victim, da Silva, was thrown off his bike, hit a metal pole, and later died in hospital after cardiac arrest. Authorities said the sentence was to be served under a semi-open regime, meaning she would have been allowed to work or study during the day but required to return to a controlled facility at night. However, before reporting to serve her sentence, she reportedly left the country.Police have now confirmed she is being treated as a fugitive. Her name has been added to Brazil’s National Register of Arrest Warrants, and Interpol has also been notified to help track her location. Officials are working with international agencies as the search continues.Dantas had over 50,000 followers online and was known for posting content about her daily life and pets, including exotic animals. After the crash, she publicly said she had helped at the scene and called it a tragedy, but witnesses and footage reportedly raised doubts about her actions. The case continues to draw strong public attention as authorities try to locate her and complete the legal process.
