Brawl breaks out near UC Berkeley; footage shows man bloodied in clash — video

A bloody fight erupted near the University of California, Berkeley, ahead of a Turning Point USA event that was to feature Dr Frank Turek and Rob Schneider and mark the end of the “This Is The Turning Point” tour. It took place just two months after TPUSA’s founder, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated at a campus event in Utah on September 10, Fox News reported. The confrontation began at around 4:30 PST when two men were seen fighting, one of whom had blood gushing from his face, amid a crowd of agitators wearing keffiyehs and carrying signs with left-wing messages, videos of this incident is also being circulated on social media. Local police struggled to contain the agitators and were seen putting on shield masks and gathering batons. It was unknown how many participants were injured. On social media, several users claimed that the fight began between the Trump’s supporters and ANTIFA. ANTIFA is a loosely organised, leftist movement that opposes far-right, racist and fascist groups. A spokesperson for UC Berkeley told Fox News Digital that the altercation did not take place on campus grounds and did not elaborate further. The Berkeley Police Department said at least two people had been arrested as of 6 pm local time. “I do not have the specific details of what the arrests were for,” the police spokesperson said. “At this point, I can share that one of the parties was arrested for battery.”Dr Frank Turek, a mentor to Kirk, told Fox News Digital last week that he looked forward to the Berkeley stop. “If I could go to any one event with him, it would be that one,” he said. “I wanted to go to UC Berkeley because it is so progressive and liberal in their views, and I wanted to provide evidence that Christianity was indeed true.”
