A video posted online by the Chinese Embassy in the US has gone viral, unveiling the nation’s new CR450 bullet train, which has set a new world record for speed. The clip, which has drawn a lot of attention, introduces the train as “China’s CR450 — the world’s fastest train!” and notes its top speed of 450 km/h and an operating speed of 400 km/h.During pre-service testing, the train surpassed its announced top speed, hitting an astounding 453 km/h on the high-speed track between Shanghai and Chengdu. This performance signals a major step forward; the CR450 can get up to 350 km/h in just 4 minutes and 40 seconds, a full 100 seconds quicker than the previous CR400 Fuxing model. The engineering behind the train includes key design improvements, such as a longer, more streamlined nose cone, which are crucial for achieving these high speeds and stability. The widely shared video attracted many impressed comments, with one social media user writing, “Great, really Impressed with China Invention/Innovation.”The CR450 is expected to enter commercial service by 2026, solidifying China’s position as a global leader in high-speed rail technology.
