Taylor Swift’s The Fate of Ophelia appeared in a video alongside images of Donald Trump and military forces. Cynthia Erivo’s performance from Wicked was used in footage showing ICE arrests and deportations. The Trump administration has also incorporated music from other pop artists in political content, using upbeat songs to make controversial policies appear more acceptable.Unlike Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift has not spoken out or complained about the government using her songs, which many of her fans did not like.
