Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Zayed Festival levels up with grand opening of Wonderland in Al Wathba

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority, officially inaugurated the much-anticipated Wonderland Entertainment City in Al Wathba. He was accompanied by Hamid Saeed Al Neyadi, Director of the Office of the Chairman of the Presidential Court and Vice Chairman of the Festival’s Higher Committee, along with a number of senior officials. The opening marks a major addition to the 2025-2026 edition of the Sheikh Zayed Festival, offering visitors an all-encompassing family entertainment experience.During his visit, Sheikh Zayed toured the various attractions and facilities at Wonderland, learning about the innovative technologies and modern designs that have been integrated to create a fully immersive destination for families. He expressed admiration for the scale and quality of the new entertainment city, recognizing it as a significant enhancement to the festival.

A destination for every age

Wonderland is designed to cater to visitors of all ages. From thrilling rides for teens and adults to engaging zones for younger children, the entertainment city brings together a diverse range of activities under one roof. Featured attractions include:

  • Roller coaster and bumper cars
  • Ice skating rink and haunted house
  • Mirror maze and Net Maze zone
  • Dinosaur park and archery activities
  • Skill based games and an electronic gaming hall
  • Pony rides for young children

Additionally, the bowling zone provides separate experiences for adults and children. The professional adult hall is equipped with advanced electronic lanes, while the children’s hall features age-appropriate equipment in a brightly themed environment. Both spaces encourage friendly family and group competitions, blending fun with safety.

Every facility at Wonderland has been developed with the highest standards of safety and quality. Specialized teams oversee all visitor movements and the operation of attractions, while pathways, seating areas, and service zones including cafés and snack outlets are designed for easy navigation. The city’s strategic location near the main festival plaza ensures easy access for all visitors, making it a central hub within the festival grounds.

The Higher Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Festival highlighted that the launch of Wonderland reflects a broader strategy to expand recreational options this season. By introducing innovative zones and experiences, the festival aims to engage children, youth, and families while combining culture, heritage, and leisure.
