NEW DELHI: A month after the death of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) has said that it does not suspect any “foul play” in the case, while confirming that the investigation is ongoing.Garg, 52, died on September 19 from drowning while swimming off St John’s Island in Singapore. He was visiting the city-state as a cultural brand ambassador for the North East India Festival, which was scheduled for September 20–21.In a statement released on Friday, the SPF urged the public not to circulate unverified information regarding the singer’s death.“The Singapore Police Force (SPF) is aware of speculation and false Information circulating online regarding the circumstances of Mr Zubeen Garg’s death. The case is currently being investigated by the SPF, in accordance with Singapore’s Coroners Act 2010.
