‘Will you answer or spread WhatsApp propaganda?’: MK Stalin slams BJP; accuses of vote theft, language imposition

'Will you answer or spread WhatsApp propaganda?': MK Stalin slams BJP; accuses of vote theft, language imposition

Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin (ANI)

NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin on Saturday launched a scathing attack against the Centre, unleashing a barrage of questions and accusing it of “arrogance” for naming key projects and legislations only in Hindi and Sanskrit. The DMK leader further questioned how “corrupt individuals get cleansed” after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “Honourable Finance Minister @TThenarasu is not the only one; the hearts of the nation’s people are also filled with countless questions. I pose a few of them: After corrupt individuals join the BJP’s alliance, how is it that they are cleansed in the #WashingMachine? What kind of arrogance is it to name the country’s major projects and laws solely in Hindi and Sanskrit?” Stalin said in a post on X.Continuing his criticism, the CM questioned the conduct of Union Ministers and the role of Governors in opposition-ruled states. “Why do Union Ministers themselves limit our children by teaching them superstitions that go against science? In states governed by opposition parties, what do you hope to achieve by causing chaos through Governors?” he asked.Stalin also raised doubts over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise carried out in Bihar, alleging that it supported “vote theft” to benefit the BJP. “Why does #SIR support vote theft to steal people’s votes for the BJP’s election victories?” Turning his attention to the Keeladi excavation findings, Stalin accused the Centre of attempting to downplay and suppress evidence of Tamil Nadu’s rich and ancient civilisation. “Will there be answers to all these? Or, as usual, will you start spreading false propaganda through WhatsApp University?” he said, concluding his post.Earlier, Tamil Nadu finance minister Thangam Thennarasu had accused the Union Government of denying the state its rightful share of funds, calling it a “political vendetta.” He said Tamil Nadu was entitled to Rs 4,000 crore but received only Rs 450 crore meant for the Right to Education, reported ANI.Thennarasu also said that the Jal Jeevan Mission projects had been affected, as Rs 3,407 crore was still pending from the Centre. He vowed to continue protests to secure Tamil Nadu’s share and ensure the state’s development needs are met.
