‘When will this end?’: Kejriwal slams BJP over repeated bomb threats in Delhi; questions govt's security management

NEW DELHI: Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday criticised the BJP‑led government over a spate of bomb threats received by Delhi schools, saying that despite the threats, “in a year, no one has been caught, nor has any action been taken.”Earlier in the day several schools – including DPS Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya – received bomb threats via phone calls. As a precaution, students and staff were evacuated, and bomb disposal squads were deployed.Kejriwal took the issue to social media platform X, writing: “Delhi’s schools are repeatedly receiving bomb threats. Panic has ensued everywhere, schools are shut down, and fear is spreading among children and parents… but in a year, no one has been caught, nor has any action been taken.” He sharply attacked the government’s handling of the security situation, saying, “The four‑engine BJP government can’t even manage the capital’s security. Parents are living in fear every day. When will all this end?” DPS Dwarka also postponed its mid‑term exams, citing “unavoidable circumstances.”'”Dear Parents Kindly note that the school will remain closed today i.e Saturday, 20 September 2025 due to unavoidable circumstances. All school buses and private vans/ cabs are being sent back immediately. Parents are requested to kindly be there at the stops to pick up their wards. Parents of private commuters must come to pick their wards in case they have dropped them to school. Mid term Exams scheduled for the day stand postponed. Fresh dates will be intimated shortly” stated the DPS Dwarka circular, as quoted by news agency ANI.Earlier incidents include hoax threats received by educational institutions in various parts of the city. Colleges in Delhi have also been targeted by recent bomb threats. On September 9, the University College of Medical Sciences received a threat via email, prompting a swift evacuation. A thorough search by the bomb disposal squad later confirmed it was a hoax. The same day, similar threats were reported at Maulana Azad Medical College and the Delhi chief minister’s secretariat. According to DCP Nidhin Valsan, the email sent to MAMC lacked specific details, but a bomb squad was still deployed as a precaution. In many past cases, searches were conducted by police, bomb disposal units and other security agencies, but no explosives or suspicious objects were found. Reports also suggest that the origins of many threats remain untraced.Delhi Police have confirmed evacuation and security protocols in response to the threats. Investigations are underway into who is sending the calls/emails.
