The AIADMK has fielded M. Sakthi from Sirkazhi (SC), setting up a contest against TVK candidate C. S. Gopinath in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026.Sirkazhi is a Reserved (SC) constituency in the newly formed Mayiladuthurai district.The seat has historically swung between the DMK and AIADMK.In the 2021 Assembly elections, DMK’s M. Panneerselvam won the seat with 94,057 votes, defeating AIADMK’s P. V. Bharathi, who secured 81,909 votes. The margin of victory was 12,148 votes.In the 2016 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s P. V. Bharathi won the seat with 76,487 votes, defeating DMK’s S. Killai Ravindran, who received 67,484 votes. The margin of victory was 9,003 votes.In the 2011 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s Dr. M. Sakthi won the seat with 83,881 votes, defeating VCK’s P. Durairajan, who secured 56,502 votes. The margin of victory was 27,379 votes.
