Saints meet CM Pushkar Dhami on Uttarakhand's silver jubilee; pledge support for Kumbh 2027

On the occasion of Uttarakhand’s silver jubilee year, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami hosted a gathering of prominent saints and spiritual leaders at his official residence, for a spiritual exchange and cultural dialogue. The leaders praised the state government’s efforts in preserving Uttarakhand’s religious heritage, promoting spiritual tourism, and strengthening its cultural identity.The saints went on to call Dhami as “protector of dharma of devbhoomi,” lauding his leadership for what they described as initiatives reinforcing the state’s Sanatan traditions. “Chief minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami has provided leadership that strengthens Uttarakhand’s cultural identity, spiritual traditions, and social harmony. His efforts have safeguarded and enriched the soul and the Sanatan heritage of Devbhoomi,” they said.Among those present were Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Kailashanand Giri Maharaj, Swami Avdheshanand Giri, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, Swami Ravindrapuri Maharaj, Pt Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, Acharya Balkrishna, Jaya Kishori, and Dr Kumar Vishwas, among others. The gathering also discussed preparations for Haridwar Kumbh 2027, with the saints pledging to work alongside the government to make it a “grand, divine, and world-class event.” They noted that the Kumbh is “not merely a religious festival but a confluence of Sanatan traditions, Indian culture, and global spiritual consciousness,” and appreciated ongoing efforts in infrastructure, ghat beautification, and crowd management.
