JAMMU: Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat Express (26401-26402) stopped for the first time at the Reasi railway station on Wednesday. Uchit Singhal, SDCM of Northern Railway (Jammu Division), said the train has a halt of 2 minutes at Reasi in both directions. “Until now, the semi-high-speed train only had a single stop between Katra and Srinagar, at Banihal,” he said.“The decision was taken to cater to the growing number of passengers from Reasi district, which attracts thousands of devotees visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine and tourists coming to see Chenab Bridge — world’s highest railway bridge. The train will depart from Katra railway station at 8.10am and arrive at Reasi railway station at 8.28am. It will then continue its journey towards Srinagar. Similarly, train number 26402 will reach Reasi railway station at 4.34pm on the return journey,” Singhal said.
