NEW DELHI: Ahead of Republic Day, a provisional list of this year’s Padma Awards has been released, as per sources. Those believed to be on the list are said to represent individuals with long-standing contributions across diverse fields.The awardees are from varied regions, including remote and underserved areas, and many have worked at the grassroots level for decades. Their contributions span healthcare, education, livelihood generation, sanitation, environmental sustainability, and the preservation of traditional arts and heritage. Several are also said to belong to marginalised communities.The awards are expected to continue the focus on recognising individuals whose sustained, often low-profile efforts have had a meaningful social impact.
