Omar’s deputy Surinder Choudhary moves Delhi HC over audio ‘sex tape’ on social media

Omar's deputy Surinder Choudhary moves Delhi HC over audio 'sex tape' on social media

SRINAGAR: J&K deputy CM Surinder Kumar Choudhary has moved Delhi high court against multiple social media channels, accusing them of falsely identifying him as one of two voices in an audio clip of a conversation with “sexual undertones”.Choudhary’s counsel, Suhail Malik, told TOI that several YouTube channels had been amplifying the audio with a static image of the deputy CM to suggest the male voice in the conversation with an unidentified woman is his.”An audio clip between two individuals is being circulated with his picture and passed off as his. These are small YouTube channels with fewer than one lakh subscribers,” Malik said. “We approached Delhi HC to get this taken down. The court ordered Google and Meta to provide details of all such channels to us so that we can make them parties in to the case and claim damages of around Rs 2 crore.”Justice Amit Bansal directed YouTube and Facebook to provide the names, IP addresses and all available details of the channels and pages circulating the content, the lawyer said. The judge scheduled the next hearing for Jan 13.
