SRINAGAR: J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah rejected Thursday Union minister JP Nadda’s claim linking “National Conference (NC) and Congress” to a govt job exam leak in the Union territory, pointing out that the fiasco occurred in 2022 under the lieutenant governor’s (LG) administration when his govt was not in place.Omar indicated that Nadda was correct about the Service Selection Board (SSB) exam leak but got other facts wrong. “It was 2022. Govt wasn’t of NC and Congress. It was a govt headed by LG but thank you for reminding everyone of this failure,” Omar posted.The CM’s response came a day after health minister Nadda accused Omar’s NC and ally Congress of maintaining silence on recruitment-related irregularities, mentioning the “SSB paper leak in J&K, where govt is of Congress and NC”.NC spokesperson and MLA Tanvir Sadiq seized on Nadda’s remarks to accuse “BJP of spreading falsehood” “Such blatant misinformation from a Union minister is both irresponsible and unbecoming,” Sadiq said.The tainted 2022 SSB exams, held for several posts like sub-inspectors and junior engineers, were cancelled over the leak. J&K high court ordered the administration to constitute a high-level probe panel.Posting the HC order, Omar mentioned the court’s observations. “We have no idea what happened to the high-level committee or its report. Perhaps you (Nadda) can share that with us in your next press conference,” Omar wrote.
