‘No faith in Constitution’: Fadnavis targets Rahul Gandhi over Gen Z post; terms him ‘urban maoist’

‘No faith in Constitution’: Fadnavis targets Rahul Gandhi over Gen Z post; terms him 'urban maoist'

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday accused Rahul Gandhi of speaking like an “urban Maoist”, alleging that the Congress leader has asked Generation Z to overthrow a democratically elected government. Fadnavis said that Gandhi does not believe in the Constitution and rejects institutions, adding that his advisors also possess an “urban Maoist” mindset. His remarks followed a day after Gandhi launched a fresh offensive against the Election Commission of India (ECI) and reiterated his “vote chori” allegations. In a post on Thursday evening, the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition said, “The nation’s youth, the nation’s students, the nation’s Gen Z, will defend the Constitution, protect democracy, and stop vote theft. I always stand with them. Jai Hind!” When reporters sought Fadnavis’ reaction to the Congress leader’s post, the CM alleged, “This is not a matter of vote theft, but of Rahul Gandhi losing his mind. He has no faith in the Constitution of our country. He has rejected every system established by it.” “Today, he has openly proven himself to be an urban Maoist, using their very language and calling upon Gen-Z to topple a constitutionally elected government. But the youth of today, the generation of this new India, firmly believes in the Constitution and will stand by it,” he said.
