PM Modi and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu discussed bilateral ties and the evolving situation in West Asia during a phone call
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday received a telephone call from his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, during which the two leaders reviewed the progress of the India-Israel special strategic partnership and discussed the evolving situation in West Asia.According to a PIB statement, PM Modi and Netanyahu reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors for the mutual benefit of both countries.”Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a telephone call from Prime Minister of Israel, HE Mr Benjamin Netanyahu today. The two leaders reviewed sustained progress in India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the bilateral cooperation across various sectors for the mutual benefit of the two countries,” the statement read.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch,” it said.The conflict in West Asia has entered its sixth month with no lasting resolution in sight.Iran said it is in the final stages of drafting an agreement with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically vital waterway for global shipping and energy supplies.The Strait of Hormuz, through which nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil and natural gas flowed before the war began with US and Israeli strikes on Iran in February, remains a critical artery for global energy trade.
