Telangana BJP leader and member of Parliament Bandi Sanjay Kumar launched a scathing attack on Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy over his recent remark that “Naxalism is a philosophy and cannot be finished.”In a posts on X, the Karimnagar MP questioned whether the Telangana CM had any regard for the sacrifices made by the state police in combating left-wing extremism.“CM Revanth Reddy Garu calling Naxalism a ‘philosophy & cannot be finished’ is an insult to the memory of thousands of innocents, tribals, police and security personnel brutally killed by Naxalites. Even your own party leaders’ families were targeted by them,” Bandi Sanjay wrote. Accusing the Congress government of soft-pedalling on Naxal influence, Bandi Sanjay alleged that former Naxalites had found a place in the state cabinet, a Naxalite was nominated for the Padma awards, and that individuals with extremist leanings were being inducted into the education commission. “This is not accidental, it’s a conspiracy to turn Telangana’s youth back toward Naxalism,” he said.Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy was reacting to Union home minister Amit Shah’s remarks on Naxalism and the Supreme Court’s 2011 judgment on Salwa Judum. Reddy said that Naxalism was not something that could be eliminated by force alone. He described it as an “ideology” born out of social and economic inequities.Amit Shah had earlier targeted former Supreme Court judge Justice Sudershan Reddy over his ruling against Salwa Judum, alleging that the judgment had prolonged Naxal violence. “Sudershan Reddy is the person who helped Naxalism. He gave the Salwa Judum judgment. If that judgment had not been delivered, Naxal terrorism would have ended by 2020. He is the person who was inspired by the ideology that gave Salwa Judum judgment,” the home minister had said. The remarks drew criticism from sections of the legal fraternity. A group of 18 retired Supreme Court judges wrote to Shah, objecting to his comments against Justice Reddy. Calling the statement “unfortunate,” they cautioned that it would be wise for public representatives to refrain from “name-calling.”BJP leader, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in his scathing remarks on Revanth Reddy asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah, Left Wing Extremism would be eliminated nationwide by 2026. “Be rest assured, we will finish Naxalism. Telangana must never again be allowed to become a den of extremists. The Constitution and democracy stand above violent extremism — on this, there can be no debate,” he said
